Looking into Online Education
Posted by kChoice on 03/24/08 in Online Education
I posted the other day about colleges I’m interested in right now. An option I’ve been seriously considering is attending an online college.
I was a little worried about whether online education was considered as good as a traditional education, so I’ve been doing some investigating. One school I’m interested in gave me a online education overview that helped to explain it and put my mind at ease a little. I’ve also noticed that some traditional colleges offer programs that are completely online, as an alternative to campus programs.
I guess you have to figure that if the traditional, old-fashioned schools are doing it, it can’t really be as sketchy as some people act like, right?
The online education benefits are obvious, and a big reason why I may actually end up going this route. For one thing, I like the idea of not having to commute to campus classes, especially with gas prices the way they are! Not having to take classes at scheduled times will also help me be able to take the classes I need and not disrupt my work schedule. And I really like the idea of being able to "participate" in my classes at any time of the day — or, heck, in the middle of the night if I want! This is great for me, because of my odd work hours and the fact that I hate getting up early in the morning.
I guess online ed just sounds like an all-around good idea!
