Who to Talk to about Golf School Troubles
Posted by knowCh on 03/27/08 in Sports
People might not take you seriously if you tell them that you are struggling academically at a golf school. Those who don’t attend these programs assume that all day is spent just playing golf. However, there’s more to golf instruction than just playing the game. The pressures of academics are just as real here as they are at any other college. And you may find yourself hesitant to talk to someone because you’re afraid that they’re going to laugh off the difficult time that you are having.
The first thing that you need to do is realize that you are not alone. Students across the nation at every Florida golf school, California golf school and golf schools in between have a tough time with their golf class academics. Combined with the fact that they have often relocated to a new place for school, this can create a lot of very real stress in their lives. It’s stress that you shouldn’t be afraid to take seriously.
Once you’ve accepted that you’re having a tough time, you need to find someone to talk to who isn’t going to diminish your feelings. This means that you should stay away from consulting family and friends unless you’re certain that they will understand. If the problems are minimal, you might find it useful to vent to a peer in your classes. Otherwise, ask your school administrators to point you in the right direction for getting help on campus. Don’t worry; they’ve seen this problem before and they’re happy to help.
